For campers entering 1st – 8th grade, 6 – 13 year-olds, STEAM camps are the best Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math summer camp programs around. All STEAM camps are held at the Big Camp in Reisterstown, MD (Baltimore County). Located near Howard County, Harford County, and Anne Arundel County, MD.
Note: STEAM campers can take the bus to camp and from camp OR parents can drop off and pick up each day.
Week 1: June 22 – June 26
Science, As Seen On YouTube:
Step into the spotlight and turn viral science into real-life magic! Get ready for explosive reactions, wild discoveries, and hands-on experiments that will make you say “whoa!” Campers will crack open egg-speriments, create oobleck that dances to the beat, and uncover the mind-blowing science behind internet-famous experiments. It’s messy, it’s memorable, and it’s the ultimate science adventure!
Cooking – Cupcake Wars:
Unleash your creativity as you design and decorate a variety of mouthwatering cupcakes, while also mastering techniques such as frosting swirls and applying dazzling toppings. Each day will feature thrilling challenges, where participants will showcase their skills and compete for the title of Ultimate Cupcake Champion! With surprise themes, special guest judges, and plenty of tasting opportunities, this STEAM camp promises to be a sweet adventure filled with fun, friendship, and, of course, lots of tasty treats with sprinkle-topped joy!
Week 2: June 29 – July 2 (no camp on July 3)
Life Under A Microscope – Biology Camp:
Young naturalists and budding scientists are invited to join us for a week of exciting adventures, cool creatures, and wild discoveries as we explore the amazing planet we call home! Learn about biology from the smallest cell to the largest ecosystems on Earth… from teeny-tiny cells to giant ecosystems, uncover the secrets of the living world through fun, hands-on experiments. Examine microorganisms under a microscope, learn how animals behave, and discover how all living things are connected.
Cooking – “Once Upon A Bake”:
Whisk your way into a world of magic and make-believe! In this enchanting, fairy-tale inspired camp, young bakers will create whimsical sweets that look as magical as they taste. From sparkling fairy dust donuts to enchanted forest cupcakes and magic wand cake pops, each day brings a new edible adventure to life. Campers will learn baking and decorating techniques while letting their imaginations run wild—because in this kitchen, happily ever-after is just a bite away!
Week 3: July 6 – 10
Picture Perfect – Photography Camp:
Say cheese! Step behind the lens and discover the art of capturing the world through your own eyes. Learn how to snap stunning shots, frame the perfect picture, and capture moments that tell a story. From portraits to action shots, learn tips and tricks to make every photo shine. By the end of the week, campers will have their own mini photo collection that’s truly “picture perfect!”
Forces in Motion – Physics Camp:
Get ready to explore the wonders of the universe, unravel the mysteries of motion, and discover the magic of magnets. Through interactive experiments, games, and STEM activities, campers will learn about the fascinating world of physics, from gravity and forces to electricity and light.
Week 4: July 13 – 17
Color Our World – The Science of Art Camp:
Unleash your inner artist and scientist as you explore the fascinating intersection between the two. Uncover the secrets behind color theory, chemistry, and the physics of light and sound. From making playdough to understanding ultraviolet light, campers will be guided through a week full of creative expression and scientific discovery, where imagination and curiosity meet.
Sew Fabulous – "Under The Sea"
Learn how to hand-sew and use a sewing machine during this under-the-sea–themed week, full of opportunities to let your creativity and imagination run wild. Bring your unique style to life as you create your own mermaid tail blanket and one-of-a-kind underwater plush, and more! All levels of expertise are welcome, from first-time beginners to those who are more advanced.
Week 5: July 20 – 24
“Top It Off!” Hat Making:
Ignite your artistic flair and explore the magical world of hat-making! Sporty caps; creative crowns; classic fedoras: craft unique hats using materials like fabric, felt, foam, and other re-purposed items. Each project introduces new techniques in shaping, decorating, and structuring hats, so you’ll leave this week of camp with a collection of masterpieces and the skills to make many of the hats you’ve always imagined!
Cooking – Kosher Kitchen Chemistry
Calling all budding chefs and curious young scientists! Grab your aprons and safety goggles—it’s time to explore the delicious science of cooking. From bubbling chemical reactions to the magic of fermentation, you’ll mix, measure, and experiment your way through the mysteries of the kitchen. With hands-on activities and edible ingredients, you’ll discover how science makes everyday foods extraordinary!
Week 6: July 27 – 31
Galactic Adventures – Space Camp:
Aspiring astronauts and curious explorers, get ready to blast off into a week of interstellar fun! Campers will journey through the wonders of the cosmos—building and launching their own rockets, uncovering the mysteries of planets, stars, and galaxies, and imagining what it’s like to travel beyond Earth. With hands-on projects, stellar discoveries, and out-of-this-world adventures, this is the ultimate cosmic experience for kids who love space, science, and big dreams.
Cooking – S’mores and More:
Get ready for a week filled with sweet summer flavors and fun! Young bakers will create tasty treats inspired by classic campfire favorites (that will be easy to make at home later on!) From campfire brownie bites and marshmallow dunkers to bug juice, s’mores cones, and gummy fishing rods, each day will bring a new delicious adventure. With creative recipes and playful twists, this baking experience is sure to spark big smiles and unforgettable memories.

Week 7: August 3 – August 7
Future Detectives – Forensics Camp:
This camp is perfect for kids with a passion for solving mysteries and cracking codes. Campers will learn the art of forensic science, from collecting evidence and analyzing fingerprints to deciphering clues and piecing together puzzles. Our experienced instructors will guide campers through exciting investigative scenarios, teaching them the skills needed to become top-notch detectives. Join us for a week of intrigue, teamwork, and adventure as we unlock the secrets of the CSI world!
Cooking – Carnival Confections:
Step right up to this sweet week of camp that will bring the magic of the carnival to life with treats like funnel cake cupcakes, candy apple cake pops, popcorn crunch bars, and other mouthwatering delights. Campers will mix, measure, decorate, and taste their way through a sugar-dusted adventure—learning new skills and crafting dazzling desserts as colorful as the fair itself. Perfect for campers who love having fun, getting creative, and baking like a pro!
Week 8: August 10 – August 14
Surrounded By Science: S.T.E.A.M. Camp
Discover the thrilling fusion of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), designed to ignite creativity and problem-solving skills in young minds. Dive into a world of hands-on experiments, coding challenges, engineering projects, artistic creations, and mathematical puzzles. From building and designing innovative structures to creating chemical reactions, this is an exciting chance for kids to explore, invent, and have fun while also learning!
Sew Fabulous – "Travel Treasures"
Learn how to hand-sew and use a sewing machine during this travel–themed week, full of opportunities to let your creativity and imagination run wild. Bring your unique style to life as you create your own travel neck pillow, tote bag, sleep mask, and more! All levels of expertise are welcome, from first-time beginners to those who are more advanced.
